Is art necessary?

Is art necessary?

I am a professional artist and accountant by profession. I make collages on paper and I also like to paint with acrylic on canvas. I really like learning new techniques and new painting styles.

For a while, however, the question tormented me: "Is art necessary?" "I thought I should use my time better, do something really productive and valuable, do something that improves the world, something real." useful and maybe making a difference and also finding my intention, yes, the eternal question - is that all there is? Suddenly, the art feels like a kind of selfish indulgence, as if I had used my time for something more important, so I started to wonder if art was really necessary.

Every day I read the morning paper. I read to keep abreast of the news. The message is committed by a crime. Terrible crimes against women and young children. Destruction by natural disasters. Among people who suffer from lack of water or too much. Polluted air and climate change. The destruction of the underwater world by plastic, while governments ruin the environment. Among corrupt politicians who destroy the social fabric for personal ends. Off unskilled people who bring the economy back to the ground. False people at the head of the business suppress and destroy the property. I wonder if anything will help stop the rot. No reason to smile at all. Save Calvin and Hobbes for the little drawing on the back
So while I felt Nero playing the violin of Rome while burning, I was suddenly in the last row. The little cartoon Calvin and Hobbes seemed to be the only thing that freed me from the constant depression of the morning paper. The little-stuffed tiger and very cute expressions. The clever comic with just under three or four panels conveying an idea is usually spiritual. When you take the reader into the life of a young child, he sometimes wonders where the story is going. I still have to read this drawing. Even in the morning, when I'm late, I quickly look at the cartoon. On vacation, I take the time to sit down and admire the talent of the designer. How the stuffed tiger looks so alive in one panel and looks like a toy in the next. Thanks, Bill Watterson.

So what's that comic, if it's not the art I was wondering? This gives me a short break from the depressing and boring news of everyday life. So art should not do anything?

In a world of sadness, art can be like clouds that separate and let in a ray of sunshine. Is not that important? There will always be death and destruction, blood and tears. There will always be bad news and people who need help. Then art must exist too. Art is a kind of relief for the sadness of life. It may also be that they have created so much art in the past centuries when daily life was difficult and there were so many diseases and ailments caused by wounds and disease. Wars Today, when we look at works of art from the past, we are built and respected by respect, the size of their vision, the size of their talents, and the durability of their works.
